100% Natural
Free of Synthetic Pesticides
and Preservatives
For an avocado orchard to achieve organic status, it must be shown that it has been
synthetic pesticide-free for 3 years and all amendments meet organic standards.
Mission organic growers are certified by USDA accredited certifiers and meet all the
requirements set out in the Organic Foods Production Act of 1990. Annually,
certifiers re-inspect the organic production system plan for each grower to maintain
organic compliance.
As a packer of both organic and conventional fruit, Mission undergoes strict
guidelines to ensure the integrity of organic product.
It begins at the field level, where
dedicated, color-coded bins are used
in harvesting and in transport to the
packing house. Extensive cleaning of the
packing line is done before each organic
run to ensure there is no influence of
contamination. When stored, a specific
color-coded area in our cooler is
dedicated to organic fruit. From its
arrival at our plant, to packing, to cold
storage, very detailed documentation of
all organic fruit is maintained for traceability.
With vast retail acceptance of organic foods,
the category is rapidly growing nationwide.
Today’s consumers who are more health
conscious than previous generations, believe
organic foods are safer and more nutritious.
Mission committed to an organic program because our customers wanted a
complete supplier of avocados, both organic and conventional . With our capabilities
and track record, it was easy for us to accommodate.
